5 ISRAEL 2048 A vision conceived by theORMovement and a variety of partners for the centennial anniversary of the State of Israel. The vision is centered on transforming the Negev and Galilee into independent, flourishing centers of life. THE CENTURY GROUP A network of experts and organizations from across Israeli sectors and branches that acts as a supportive, advisory and influencing framework for the design and promotion of the Israel 2048 vision. THE CENTURY COUNCIL A body comprised of leaders of the major associations in civil and business society, which functions as a board of managing partners in bringing the Israel 2048 vision to fruition. OR COMMUNITIES 63 communities comprised of 46,000 residents with whom the OR Movement assisted in building a new life in the Negev and Galilee and has remained in contact with for the past 15 years. THE OR GLOSSARY DEVELOPING THE NEGEV AND THE GALILEE THE NEW CENTERS A new concept, led by the OR Movement in cooperation with Israeli government, civilian and commercial entities, based on transforming the Negev and Galilee into independent, flourishing, equitable centers. EQUITABLE CITIES A new definition of what was once known as ‘development towns’. The project was comprised and developed by the OR Movement under the name “Equitable Cities”, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry for Social Equality and local authorities in the Negev and Galilee. VITAL NEIGHBORHOODS An innovative residential neighborhood model, developed and implemented by the OR Movement, defining anew the relations between the individual and the community, leisure, work, home and environment. IMPACT GROUP INITIATIVE A group of purpose-driven people seeking to develop and jointly promote social and financial initiatives, in a Negev or Galilee community.
